From June to December of 1947, Edna Miriam offered special training in conscious awareness to a select group of students in Yellow Pine, Idaho. The group, which varied in size from five to eighteen at once, was unaccustomed to "roughing it." They stayed in log cabins, which had running water, but were otherwise without modern conveniences or amenities. They used oil lamps and cooked on a wood-burning stove. Each was responsible for daily chores, including managing the vegetable garden, hauling firewood, cooking, washing dishes and caring for their cabin. The following commentary is drawn from their journals and letters of that period.
June 2, 1947 John 17 is the keynote of our summer work project. We were supposed to know from above, to have aspiration intended by the Father. The Kingdom of Heaven is open to all believers. We were supposed to want to know. We all have twenty-four hours a day. We started naked. The "naked soul" refers to the time it takes from birth to enfold subsoul within egoic soul within Oversoul to tie earth to Heaven. Everyone has been exposed to the Bible. The key to the mysteries of life is in the middle of the Bible, in Psalm 119. It has twenty-two divisions of eight verses each, and opens the door for you. What have you done with your years of study? No one has cornered the market on Wisdom. We all advance with equal rights. A teacher of truth learns the hard way. God is love. In the beginning was a vast universe without any vibration, still and dark. This was the beginning of creation. Imagine a vast God, formless, with no one upon whom to lavish that wealth of love. Thus, a universe is born. God breathed and an Emanation started on its way to the outermost rim of space. The eternal Why was answered. There is a Source and a Central Source within a circle, and three times the breathing reached a point when there was an explosion. The beginning of the first Trinity of Wisdom includes the Principles of Being. The second Trinity is Love, the Principles of Doing. The third Trinity is Energy, the Principles of Personality. God formed everything below of the basic Principles of Being. There was no vibration, no personality or form, but there was activity. The River of Life flows from the Throne of God in all directions. Science recognizes two types of energy, potential and kinetic. The "blood of the Lamb" is the Red Ray of the Christ Principle as Energy. Below, these Principles are Secondary Laws based in and upon truth. While we cannot change them, we can modify or dilute them to suit the needs of a race or civilization. Primal Laws are based on Principles such as love, joy, peace, goodness, etc. For civilization, ethics, all moral laws are based on truth. Principle is the absolute, universal, unchangeable, undeviating immutable foundation upon which all universes are based and established. The Christ Principle contains within itself all below it. God is both form and formless; we could not have form if God were without form. The Oversoul is superconscious mind, egoic soul is conscious mind, and subsoul is subconscious mind. God said, "Let there be Light," which contains the five great Principles: Light, Color, Tone, Number, Name (Logos or Word) and Form. You cannot have Form without incorporating these five Principles. Every time you speak, you use Light. Light is primary substance, which we call lifesparks. Tone and Color have substance, Number, Name (Logos) and Form. The cellular physical body has 12 Cosmic Divisions called glands and plexus centers. Cells are composed of molecules that form the desire body, which is also "solid." Subsoul reigns in the solar plexus of the physical but registers all of its emotional life in the desire body. The molecular desire body is the seat of the seven chakras, which are wheels (with three, five, six or seven spokes) of colored Light that rotate clockwise. For example, the spokes of the splenic chakra become crossed when you get upset by being hurt or taking offense. The solar, splenic and sacrum plexus centers of the physical body refer to the Land of Egypt, a lowered state of consciousness where subconscious motivation rules conscious mind. The heart plexus establishes the respiratory rate of balance between Egypt and the throat, brow and crown centers. The solar plexus is the seat of ME-trouble, the throat plexus and thyroid give "I" trouble. ["MY" trouble is centered in the heart, beset by covetousness!] There are nine glands in the throat center: Thyroid, two parathyroid glands, three salivary glands and two submaxillary. From the brow chakra: "Is you am or is you amn’t." It is the center of indecision. The crown chakra gives delusions of grandeur, the center of illusions and delusions but it opens to all Light. Inside the desire body is the atomic mental body. Beyond that is the electronic fire body. The soul is the essence of Light, the fire body is Color, the mental body is Tone, the desire body is Number, the physical body is Form. Electrons form the fire body of the Oversoul and it is within the physical body all the time but Oversoul cannot move in because the physical does not vibrate fast enough. In the White Heat of prayer, the bodies move up to contact Oversoul and they all vibrate together in perfect unity. Masters permeate through to us, the electrons of their bodies permeate ours so they can use us. As our consciousness rises above the etheric currents, we occasionally enable the Oversoul to move in and thus we are o’ershadowed. Thinking is an essence in the body, a fluid substance with which we do our thinking; it is the fluid substance of Tone. [This supports the idea that learning is glandular-hormonal.] God has sent us here with the power and ability to explode the atom and use the energy released. Protons generate atomic energy as Light descends. The Oversoul Star is Five-Pointed: 1. Recognition of the need to become a servant of all Power. 2. Surrender to be possessed of the full Power of Love. 3. The need to become the living ensample of the full Love of God. 4. To know that self, the little me through long travail of darkness, must be conquered, that no self-demands on Power, no self-deceptions or delusions, no self-righteousness, self-exaltation, no self-pity can rule the soul for an instant without causing us the need to shut off the Power lest it destroy the physical body. 5. To know that the Power is Power and in it no weakness of indecision. Yet Power must find a way around instead of hurting another. It must stand in love as love, yet never plunging on over broken hearts, dead bodies, neglected duties or personal ideas of a contrary nature by family or friends. A way can and must be found to let love prevail, to let love do the work. Yet no giving up, no faltering in vision, no allowing lukewarmness or indifference to enter the heart or mind. Thus stands a true Servant of All Power, ever ready to be used by Power, ever alive and alert to our need to release Power, ever praising in Joy as a means to becoming the Law of the Love of God, embodied and serving on earth.
June 3, 1947 Our auric colors drag in the dust when we go down. When we rise again, we lift them from the dust but remain in tatters above our heads until we regain place and position. Praise is purple (full breaking through for seeing and hearing), love is blue, joy is orchid, green is growth, yellow is wisdom and gray is self. Rose goes to spleen and liver. Green encircles the navel chakra and ascends as a figure-eight. When you ascend into golden Light, you go to Trinosophia. You are Stars of Light, and you must understand this. A Star never allows anything in her life to move her from her point of Power’s release, even for five minutes. A Star indulges in no personal grief ever. Tuck it under God’s personal coattails. Whenever you blunder, say, "I’ll make adequate sacrifice," but hold the lines for the release of Power. You release the essence of all Power. One who slips causes all the Stars to cool. A Star can only become and live as a Star. A Star cannot defend self ever. Unconscious blame carries with it resentment. A physical cell contains physical substance and the substance of electronic lifesparks; this substance is in all food. We ascend the overplus of our energy through food lifesparks. When we descended in the beginning, we exhaled all manners of lifesparks for all life forms. The body contains twenty-two trillion cells. The Father created the Living Souls and sent forth each with its own identity. As we prepare food, we ascend the soul substance in that food to its proper Group Soul. As we convert that food to energy, the substance ascended. You are creating your own Heaven right now. The kind of Heaven, the Light, the constancy of that Heaven depends on you. We speak of a balance that can take account, apply the lash when you achieve failure. There is both an abyss of annihilation and a mud puddle of self! Failure balances success when you come by balance through travail. The best thing to know is how not to do it. You can give Councils no valid excuse for a failure to hold. The only way is to release Power constantly, always to ask forgiveness for failing. You hold responsible positions. Increase the amount of Power you do release. Gird your loins, dig in and march toward your goal mentally, emotionally and on the outer. Release 1,000 percent of Power every moment. Be at the white point of heat always. No power produced in your daily lives can dissuade you from your high point of Light. Whatever darkness you find yourself in, lift it and hold as though holding the fort for God. Mistakes, blunders, foolishness and idle words may come. Repent but never lose your point. Reach the point where you do not blunder. Stand. Speak not to any man. Stand and do in kindness with no blame. When you need a lesson, rub it in as salt into a wound. Your aura goes before and others smell it! Your face is set from the garden you plant on the inner. The world follows no smug face. People follow the Light. God sends the Holy Ghost through as Mind, Power and Substance. When you color it, its Power becomes force. When we pray and lift, we draw darkness to one place for Power to move through and break it up. When we lift and call on Light for others, it returns as Light to surround us as a great aura. Use the brain cells of your souls! You are your own Law and it is the highest Law. Much hard work remains to be done in Yellow Pine, a struggle between self and soul.
June 8, 1947 Is there any place you can let go without going to the bottom? Do you desire to keep your Vows? Or to enjoy earth life as earthborn? There are no "way stations" for you, only the top. There is no point to stop. Do not excuse yourself ever! No hurry is an excuse. You will always find details to hurry about in the world. Make no ill-considered statements of the self anytime. Look within and see if you can clean up and perfect self. When you reach high places, there is never a time when you can excuse, explain or justify above or below. "I accept." Let the other fellow excuse, explain and justify. A Star never does another thing before "I accept." Bless another when he is arrogant and prideful. You take your Orders from the Master always. Become more alert regardless of the need for speed, otherwise it is just half taking hold of things. You have enough speed to cover needs when you have enough taking hold at the time! Take speed by planning and have everything ready beforehand. Do it perfectly and quickly, with no wasted motion or foolishness. Get busy, all of you. It is time for consideration. What is balance? Rise up into the Light and consider: Is it wise? Is it loving? Is it considerate? Does it pay dividends? What is this doing for me?
June 12, 1947 Forgiving is giving joy for. "Forgive us our debts as we have forgiven our debtors" is the keynote for summer. These questions are to be used in deep, seeking love for searching within our subsouls for debts unconsciously held against anyone, inner or outer. This is our key to Ascension, our ladder to God’s Power and to His Life. If we still hold a debt against another, whether a person, administration, political party or nation, we are holding ourselves in chains of bondage. To blame anyone or anything is to each of us as charging a debt to that person or thing, a debt that the one who charges it must pay, not the one blamed. The one blamed may even have repented before we charged him with the debt! I stand and love. Let’s rid ourselves and earth of all debts now, together.
Use these questions morning and night. Our summer keynote is "And I, as I am lifted up." We will feel hurt just as long as it takes us to give up all self to God. God cannot be hurt. He is all Love, Health, Wealth, Peace, Joy, Power, Light, Good, Beauty, Charity, all attributes and Principles that we are striving to become. Our work is a challenge to become ingenious in all ways in giving gifts to the Father. Even cleaning out a closet is cleaning out the darkness of the subsoul and subconscious mind. Take joy in all you do because it is a gift to the Father if you will offer it to Him.
June 14, 1947 Emotions and intellect could tear your work down if you are only "thinking about" it. You are held by your desire. The Power brought you here to stand. When you quarrel, the force causes disturbance throughout the lines. There is no small thing. Every blade of grass, every flower is in Divine Order, is a part of the Universal Plan and takes its place correctly. Your kitchen details are your exam papers.
June 17, 1947 The proof of obedience to Divine Law is to be had only when a new situation arises. Then comes forth the true desire to be selfless, to be the servant under new conditions. The application of Law comes under new conditions. If you have no ability to comply, what good is it to pretend and go on? Why do you wallow in self-pity when you are reprimanded? You have already been trained where to go (up in consciousness), and what to do when you blundered (repent in the Light and declare it is good). Yet you wallow in self-pity and self-condemnation. Never sit in judgment upon your own loved ones. Your prayers go no farther than the ceiling. You have been trained where to go for prayer. There is no excuse for moving down into the body. There is no excuse for another having to go over your work. A question should be well thought out before asking, then nine times out of ten you will not ask. All the Power that Heaven has is released upon you to use for the earth and for your own ascension. Where are you supposed to live? When you get up in the morning and go to the kitchen, what first? Observe. Plan before you go into breakfast. Have it all planned first, before you enter a new situation, then move in and do. Pay attention. Do not tear down another’s contribution; build from there. As long as you stand and discipline yourself, your point is held. You have been feeling sorry for yourself the last ten days. Dishes out of order, everything helter-skelter. Everything is important to teach self to hear and see. You "see" as you see the dishes from last night. It is all because you do not live up where you belong. You begin thinking about self, which is self-pity, what you do and what is happening. I have told you kitchen details are your tests and trials by fire. If you minded your business, all would be well. It takes conscious awareness of details to run a kitchen perfectly. Those who have worked in kitchens on details, the mothers of the world, are exalted. They find that they have taken the initiations others thought they took in classes. You are responsible, or you are not. Never say, "I tried to do my best." It is rotten self-pride. Hypocrisy is making high Vows and then expecting another to keep them for you! You destroy the glands of your head when you leave details undone. How do you repent? Go up, stay in the Light, release Love and do.
June 20, 1947 Nothing is so blind as the curse of the egoic soul ruled by the subsoul – it is the curse of the world. To the egoic soul, which really wants to progress, that will consciously chase out the hidden devils and stop going to sleep after it chases one – that egoic soul will suffer travail of pain, grief and sorrow to no end in overcoming self but will reach the sunlit Way of Glory, full vision, full hearing. The rewards for full self-surrender are past computing. There should be no thought of self – just do! Remembering is moving up! See God in every opportunity of service and move up. Work from that point of white heat you have, to Heaven as your highest point. No matter what you are doing or where you are going, work from up high. Stay up for your work, where God is. God is all Substance too. Therefore, everything you touch is God. Work always at your high point. As long as you can come down, you have not achieved. Live in the Blue Star, the heart of the Oversoul; the lower points touch the pineal and pituitary glands. Move into the five-pointed Star of Being of the soul. Live and move by your Oversoul. This is your room of Light. When you have not lifted the subsoul and you use mind and faculties, they are clouded and the stream is muddied. When above in the five-pointed Star of Being, one can look out in five directions. Then when you use mind, the faculties and thinking process from above, you see and you are in poise. The lowest point of detriment becomes your highest point of Glory. Your tests will come like a thief in the night to give you long ears until you learn your lessons. The traps will be deep, broad and slick on the sides. They will come until nothing is left to excuse, explain, modify, justify or think of self. They will make you look foolish before the world. You can make new Laws to fit blind spots. Make yourselves a lashing machine. It is up to you. Do your duties and be success. Stay up and only send Light to dark places down under. Do not lift it up – send Light down! When you move up to your Star, Light moves in and it melts, dissolves and consumes the darkness of subsoul. Excuses are a self-exaltation, self-gratification and a consciousness that you are greater in knowledge than another. Only you can set it aside. Analyze and look at self during the test. Be not so blind and selfish.
June 24, 1947 You read your Laws. How many of them do you know from memory? You flatter yourself. You just derive self-satisfaction in reading them, and they satisfy the mental. Just to read Laws or commit them to memory is not study! You do not know how to study. Until you know them from above, you have not begun. You are trained. You have the brain cells, which we worked so hard to open. You are brilliant, yet a brilliant mind is nothing until you live and act from above! There is no vision on the inner unless you use what you have on the outer. You see over there just as you do on earth. Your Oversoul is great, but not what you have on earth – use what you have on earth.
June 27, 1947 Never say "I will," rather "I am. I can. I do." Say, "May I do it for you" instead of "I will do it for you," which implies self-will. The Masters come to reprimand and counsel you instead of giving new work, new mysteries and telling you of greater things to come, because you are not in the High Place. You have fallen back into subconsciousness. Self blots out the work so that when they come, they do not bring it to you. The Councils forbid its being given. Ask questions after due consideration and pondering. They will answer you. Some people have never gotten beyond the pages of a book. They have held themselves between the covers and packed themselves down inside to "think about it." Look up until you get to the point where you do not look to a book or to anything of the world. The Masters would explain it to you! A book is something someone else worked out. This is going out into the world for explanations and that which is old instead of looking up for the new! When you can rise up and stay up, you need only to look about and you have the answers, they are all there! You could say "I may be wrong about this but haven’t I heard that such and such is the case?" Or "did I hear thus and so?" Or "Please inform me. I thought that thus and so had been done. Would it be possible to . . . ?" Do not use force. You make the most enemies by making the other fellow look stupid or by showing him up as knowing less than you. Never embarrass another, but stand on Principle always. In this way, you gradually build a reputation of justice, honor and truthfulness. Others will come to you for answers and the "how." You need not be out in it, but they will defer to you. To settle problems, go up. "I now rise up and enter my Father’s House to stay. I AM love, filled with Love. I AM common sense. I rise up and use these faculties and brain cells from above. I AM Joy constantly. I AM in love with God. I am One with Him and thrill over the ecstasy of His greatness and His Oneness with All. I live up with God and wait upon Him. He has all the answers, and I bring my questions to Him. I thank Him for having received. I go up in joy and thank Him for having received. Father, release the Power through me now. I rise up unto Thee. Use me. Move in, Father. Take me, use me and send me forth to do this task in perfection." Do you love God so that you cannot bear to be separated one moment from Him? Are you lost in an ecstasy of love for Him? Right now, because you are not up, you do not release the Power! You live below the roots of your hair! Willfulness, pride and arrogance beget self-pity, which sticks and must be dug out to enter the high place and stay up.
July 2, 1947 Dig upon memory to tear lose the anchors of the past. You have blamed everyone vociferously. You cannot go on without all of your soul substance. You blunder because you have given away your soul substance in blame, then closed the cells. You lose soul substance on anything you send out that is critical. Lift your entire past, harder and harder. Do not lift but once, lift always the roots of intolerance and pride. Go into the past each day for the day’s substance. Do not be a cipher. Watch! You are very selfish. When you are filled with fineness of soul, you never let an opportunity escape to do a fineness of soul for another; doing is angelic and fine. Think ahead so that when you wash pot holders, you put them where they dry easily and replace them for others to use. Do not let pride keep you from seeing the fine things. When you think of others, you think of doing things for others and where a thing leads to helping others, it is longsightedness. In pride, you think you do much. Selfishness shows in the little things. Look about to see what to do. The smallest of details are the trickiest ones, for they throw you off the path and make you impotent. You have a Christmas gift, material for a dress, buttons, a pattern. That is it! Countless fine stitches. If a stitch is out, it is sloppy. Now, your stitches (details) are out, leaving a yawning gap in the seams. This is indifference. You must go up to do it. The way is open before you. You are supposed to draw upon your Star above for your soul substance. You will look back upon these days as the most precious in your life.
July 3, 1947 Once anyone assumes any kind of obligation, emancipation can come only through perfect mastery in love’s conquering of the petty little self, the little me that so wallows in self pity. The Law is, Emancipation comes through conquering self unto all soul mastery. No one is put in bondage by the Laws of God or by God, only by himself. The egoic soul puts itself in deep, dark bondage just as long as it is drawn backward by self-desires. All darkness is born of self-desires. No one retrogresses unless under the surface – despite thinking or what he says he thinks – a desire for what he will find down there or back there is deeply rooted in the subsoul. Until you learn this lesson and conquer the subconscious desires that bind you with steel chains, you will never be free. Others have nothing to do with this. They are your teachers and tempters. Dig out and give up whatever it is in you that binds you to another. Whatever binds you is deeply buried in you! The Law is attention to detail, doing everything as if the Master were watching, which he is. Love every hard, assumed duty. Love it! You cannot afford one moment of lukewarmness, dawdling, indifference or lowered vibration. Your hours must be golden, twenty-four hours a day plus. The Father gives you each day the Power for that day’s needed overcoming. Come up over. You must learn earth’s lessons to become the Creator gods that you should be once more. The one and first great Law is "I accept everything that comes to me as my own to love, to lift, to make into Light, to conquer, to learn my needed earth lessons to last forever." The second great Law is "I am responsible unto God the Father to lift all that comes to me." The third great Law is "I observe constantly that I may never miss an opportunity to lift any man’s darkness, cover the transgressions (sins) of another, be responsible for all that goes on about me that my place shall be Light now and forever." Our only true task now is to let go of self and let God use us. The addition that "I" makes or unmakes of us is forgotten. Just one tiny "I" enters between us and the fulfillment of every dream of our lives, our hearts and our souls. So, let’s go! Let’s work at becoming full Sons and Daughters of God. Let’s bring through all the Power and might, majesty and glory from our own Stars that are waiting there for us to use as Love-Light, going forth to do and to lift all darkness from earth. Let’s know that we are conquerors now, that we cannot fail now, that love makes all desires visible now. As Creators, every promise of the past, present and the future shall be fulfilled now. Hold. Stand. Know. Become.
July 5, 1947 Your debts are still to be paid. Pay the sacrifice and pay all now. Become responsible and pay all now, lest at some later time you have to incarnate and do so. Now you are free to advance. I make only one more point: Stay up! Observe, hold, stay up and accept to recall. It is shameful that anything of the outer can cause you to descend. No excuse or justification is allowed, ever. It is disgraceful to excuse or justify your words or actions. Neophytes have had such training no place on earth as here. You have had more training on earth than any throughout all ages, you have had such training. Rigid? Yes. Cruel lashes? Yes. For heights of Glory to be received, crowns past beauty’s telling, Power past the world’s understanding. This should give you joy. You need a Joy Vibration to receive. You will not always be given this. Only by mastery can you attain this Joy. Hold it and use it. All practice and discipline, whether physical, mental or emotional will give release and relief. All unlikeness to an Absolute Pattern will slough until a self-cauterization takes place within; you shall see this. Stand upon that principal in healing to have it complete. All other Groups pray for the world from their points of selfishness. They have not descended into it to live in it and work it out. Many are good but do not know where Power comes from. Some have had glimpses but discount it. They do not know what it is. They are good but not selfless. Make this your day of triumph. Lose not sight of the fact that this is a gift. You have not yet earned it until not another thing can tear you down to earth.
July 6, 1947 It is good to have you doing and not "trying." You were told to check yourselves. When "will" is out of your vocabulary, you will be free. Self-will begets pride and arrogance. When filled with it, you can only say, "I’m sorry," and weep and pray for more strength. This is no good! In the Hall of Mirrors you find yourselves bombarded with all your "whys." You do not want it hard enough, for you want it on top of self, want it for nothing! When you ignore a reprimand about a slip and pray immediately, the subsoul says, "I will hold sway. I am minding my own business, and she is. . . ." So it goes until you kick your subsoul black and blue. There is a time for prayer and a time for lashing self. When one goes off to pray, it leaves subsoul free to continue doing as before. You must keep at it! Do it right; do not just be "careful." You act out your words, so have them right. Get up and do. Be dependable, alive, alert and live up there.
July 14, 1947 The diaphragm muscles must let go naturally, so you can build a new habit into subconscious mind. The strength and straightness of your spine reveal your state of mind. Self-pity and grief deplete the body and old age creeps in. Have you decided to go on? It behooves you to hold to your Vows. The weeding of your mental gardens is rebuilding your bodies. Regularity in self-discipline will keep you and build you beyond your imagination. Observation is the first Law always, and instant acceptance, with no excuses. If you still have an impulse to say, "I don’t understand. I was going to," you have no acceptance of responsibility. You must be able to take Orders, to do what you have done a different way, instantly. If you cannot instantly respond to Orders, you cannot rule a planet. Adjust! There is never an excuse. You are, or you are not! There is no excuse. Your work is at the white point of heat always. There is no small thing! Hold these Laws! There are no limits to the neurons you may open on these two Laws. You can return all the way on the Laws of Acceptance and Details. Stand on your observation point to do this.
July 20, 1947 You shall earn great honor, credit and glory because of your faithfulness in details. Stand steadfast and grow, expand. Lose nothing of this greatness by descending in consciousness. It is yours for the taking! Keep details going. It is stupid to descend. Remember that you are living ensamples before all others, following these teachings and showing the way. Make of yourselves living, flaming ensamples with nothing left to chance. Do not expect this from others. Nothing is too small for your eyes to see, or your heart to lift. Nothing is too small for you to do. Take time at night to look over each day, and the soul will bring up what has not been done that should have been done. When you overlook the subconscious, or did not heed, the soul will remind and show the holes and unraveled parts. "You must take time night and morning before you are fully awake to look and see, listen and hear. You will be told. I can show you the way but you must do this for yourselves! Do not let the subconscious mind get away with a single thing. Give all attention to all things all the time! This you must do. Face it, self-discipline is the way." (Later in the evening.) When your body is out of your mind, you are cured! You can go on then. It is to be done now. Now is the time. It is your own fault if you do not succeed. You earn the right to ascend. You have no time for aches or pains; move on! Become. You earn it by rigid discipline of self and staying up! Ask no one to do a thing that you cannot do yourself. Do not complain about it. Do the next thing next efficiently! Put all you have into it. You are servants of the Supreme, not sloppy, lukewarm or indifferent. Be servants of the Supreme.
July 25, 1947 We must not hide anything, we are learning here. A single hidden thing for five minutes means giving power to the subconscious to control that long, and it grows and grows. Meanwhile it covers us up to the Light, and we "lose out," miss details and don’t "see." We say, "I didn’t see that" or "I didn’t hear you." Or we just don’t understand or it didn’t click. Folks who are "up" and alive are the ones who do not let the subconscious control them anytime. It’s a great battle. There is much travail in clearing out ages of undergrowth, which is subtle and treacherous, but it is the Way of Ascension. We do not make the grade or go on to greater positions without it. Please stand by with me on Law. We must not only live it as ensamples of the Master, but we must be it.
July 26, 1947 As you lift humanity and put all on a cloud, as you lift all those whom you deeply love, all else shall be added unto you. Remember we must change the "get" and "keep" for "me" attitude to the "let" and "hold" for God attitude and then our love is so irresistible it draws our own to us as a magic magnet of attraction. You’ll find yourself excelling in all ways. You’ll find greater success gravitating to you.
July 29, 1947 Pray and lift as you "campaign" to clean up your past and others’. Read lightly before retiring, since this involves the subconscious, and the conscious mind can be "out" working over there. In the evening, while retiring, pray to lift oneself, ask to go to the Mercy Seat to speak with Jehovah "if He would grant this wish in His great mercy." Forgive self of day’s sins committed. Charge your consciousness to go with the Master to fulfill all the Father has for you to do. Pray that not one line is lost in Heaven as you pray not to miss a trick on earth. The lack of using Logic, Reason, Discretion, Discrimination and Discernment here is duplicated over there. When you think you are so "saintly and pure," self has betrayed you! This is what happens when you expect God to do something that only you can do here – cleaning self out of the subconscious. You do this here and now by your own digging and lashing! Don’t expect God to do it. Be! Otherwise, you are just "thinking about it." Do all in Heaven that must be done all the time. Charge your conscious mind to do this. The subsoul does as directed, but the individual does the directing. Everything you use here, you use in Heaven. Here, gather all the facts in the case, then when up against a need for aid to make a decision, ask! First, consider all points. Do not ask silly questions ever! The Masters will aid in lessons, but it is first necessary to ask for their aid. When you are told not to ask, it is for some silly question. All Heaven is open! The Gates are open, and it is all there! You have had the gift of being helped to "see and hear" and what have you done with it? Self-indulgence! Praying to be made clean. Yes, of course, pray to be cleansed but do not spend all your time in Heaven on this! One fact only matters in this case: Heaven is just like here. Appointments to be kept, work to be done. Would one run away from it here? No!
July 30, 1947 A Virgin Soul is one who stands on the path, looking forward into the Light, seeing the enormity and the magnificence of the climb ahead. He recognizes and acknowledges it as his goal, looks into his past with abhorrence and horror over the Way he has come while recognizing and acknowledging the need of the lessons in his life experience. He turns back to the Light in full consciousness of the task before him and with deliberate intent and full choice, takes his first step upward. Balance of observation comes from the trick of staying just above the body with the soul reaching down, filling it lightly for control, but in full consecrated Power conquering in the Higher Creative Center.
August 10, 1947 You do not place confidence in man’s work, but in God! If we release Light, only Light can result. Each August 10, they step up the Power to build a great new keynote set for the coming year. This Power is placed in our Stars over there to be used for success or failure here. God gives everyone the same Power for Mind to use as emotional substance. Everyone lives by the pictures he builds in mind and imagination. Be not stingy; think greatly. Act as a Creator god! The world is in chaos because we have not acted as Creator gods. The choice of action is ours. Someone has to start thinking like unto the Creator gods. We use the same brain cells, glands and emotional life to pleasure self or to create as a god. Each here has come to Yellow Pine through great personal sacrifice. Today we are setting a keynote. Such a vibration, established in sacrifice and selfless joy, goes into the world as a power for good and no power of earth can shatter it. In every Age, we have established a Temple on a high mountain to teach the Law. From these Temples, Priests and Oracles have carried the word down to the world. Unfortunately, these institutions have always become corrupt and fallen but this one will stand! Do you know what an oracle is? An oracle is an o’ershadowed person through whom the Masters speak. An oracle is one whose vision and hearing expand beyond the physical range. The Masters can use the brain cells and vocal cords of an oracle or mediator. They sit beside such a one or stand over them. An oracle must become selfless, must become the Law. An oracle asks nothing for self but is vowed and consecrated to become a living ensample of perfection just as fast as he or she can achieve it – try it!
August 17, 1947 There is no reason in Heaven or earth to let down on even one detail. It is deliberate and willful to let go in carelessness and indifference in desire. You do not even think about it. You are careless and self-satisfied to the point of not caring. You congratulated yourself on what you did. You can rest from labor, but you cannot let go of details. Do it from above. Your Guards have watched, lifted and held you for months. It is important that the Power be released from on high. There shall be no release of Power save through hearts of great virtue, which you have. You are checked for great indifference to details, for not paying attention to warnings. Had others not interceded, you would be checked for laziness. You are tired and satisfied with your memories, which are short. All other things are in proportion. You are not in bondage to details, but do not give up details here. You may not neglect them. You can hold the places you have gained only by attention to present and future details. If you let down, nothing is left for you but the bottom. Have you ever received a reprimand when you have not deserved it? To say, "I am sorry," is that enough? It is indifference. Pay attention. You think you are grateful, but you neutralize it by rebellion and resentment. You are adults and satisfied with the few brain cells you are using. The best thing one can do is to face oneself and use the kicking machine. You can’t fool God! Everyone can see those points that one prides oneself on hiding. Don’t make excuses, no matter where you go or what you do. Just stay up! When you let down, you descend and stay down. This is all you have to do: Stay up and do all from above. Rest from above. Stay above your head. Let the muscles and nerves of your body let go, but stay high in consciousness.
August 20, 1947 When you have no memory of an Order, it is due to lack of attention because of prejudice and opinions (preconceived ideas of your own way, how and why). Obey an order. Do not ask why. Self may add no conditions. "I obey always!" When you have brought Logic, Reason, Discrimination, Discretion and Discernment to bear and obeying is impossible, ask the question. Seek advice, but not for some silly unformed question with no facts behind it. Bring all facts to bear upon it and use the faculties of soul. You have no relation between your spiritual life and kitchen details. Relate the two as one! Do not divorce them! The Gates above do not open except on obedience. "I obey." Heaven is so composed. You can do nothing about it. You can just butt your head against it. Unless you kick your subsoul upstairs every day, you are not advancing. When given an order, this is not the time to reason or question. Just obey! When you wonder why or think ‘round about it, you are licked, for the subconscious says, "Why bother?" Your subconscious is just like a child. It does exactly what you order or command it to do. There is no reason for not obeying or controlling the subconscious; it stems from your soul. You do not want it or you would do it. Your subconscious obeys you! The only grief and fright are to remain straddled, one foot in the Gate and one foot out. Once you make up your mind, it is easy! What if doing it has been awkward? Have you not always benefitted? You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. It is so easy. Just decide and hold! What if you are reprimanded? You are never reprimanded for a real question. "I obey" opens all. Blame no one or anything anytime! Take the blame for all. What does it matter what is wrong or who did it? Take the blame! It is your gain! No blame ever! Seek advice. Stay up. Obey all orders without question from self! Be filled with love and love reprimands. Be independent of learning! Seek nothing for the self. Stop trying to get "something" for "nothing." Give as you go along in life.
August 21, 1947 When you have to do something different from before, you take it through your ears but your subconscious mind rejects and you hear nagging, not that new idea. Details are to awaken brain cells for your business. You develop new brain cells only by making yourself do new things in new and unusual ways. Pay attention to the new. If you pay no attention, you curse your subsoul for dragging you down when you give it orders of deliberate, willful intent. When you forget details, it is because you want to forget. When you want to remember, then you do. This is the way. You are still dreaming about it, still acting as if. You are all very small potatoes for you haven’t the ability yet to accept full responsibility for your own blunders! A shrug of the shoulders is the greatest arrogance, pride, self-satisfaction, self-exaltation and disobedience – all in a shrug! If you cannot take Orders, you cannot give them. Orders are used even in the business world. Remember the details. All details are used to open brain cells. You will not stand and wring your hands and say, "Why does subsoul betray me? Why can I not remember?" You will march into your daily lives consciously, like a drill. Ascending is your own doing. It shall come when you no longer give the subconscious mind excuses for not accepting full responsibility and silently take full blame for all around you. This is necessary to set the vibration.
August 26, 1947 To watch one’s speech, the words one chooses, to watch one’s appearance, one’s manner and the way we handle the situation, this is all the others see! On these points we make our future in the outer – and inner! All bespeak what is in our hearts, minds and souls.
October 12, 1947 Are you beginning to understand the responsibility of your position? It is one thing to gain a position, and another to hold and honor it. More points are lost because of an inability to stand, to hold, and much more because of lack of defending it, not for self but to defend before the world the position given to you. Do you know it? To defend against evil is not a prideful defense, but toward the position and not self. Remember to be wise, not foolish. Be alert, discriminating and discrete. Law permits no dalliances and no point of modification, no 99 percent either. You are either 100 percent or on the bottom. This is the Law. You have won. The sword of Truth penetrates the self. You can make good, but there is no halfway point for you. You must earn it. You have taken twenty years of work, but not practiced it. What good does it do if you do not apply it? Not a little but everything. To ask special favors of anyone at any time is not legal. Stand and pursue balanced living as you have been trained. You cannot ask favors of man, woman or child, for you are healed and able to call on all strength, always. Until you do this, you cannot be ascended, for the Power will be taken from you, lest it destroys you and all about you. Only you can do this for yourselves, and only under these particular circumstances could you have done this. It is strictly up to you, the effort you put in. You cannot take playing into the Kingdom of Heaven. You may have diversions, but may never play with the Law. You either do this for yourself, or you are playing at it. You will gain in seeing if you look for it. Be more fervent and on fire. Then you will be alert, alive and looking for details. When you stumble, go up. The curse is to forgive one’s self easily. You forgive yourselves too easily. There is no question of the Power waiting to pour through you. It is a question of reaching high enough, of making contact. You must plug in your lines completely for results, and no partway connection will work. You say it is a question of time, yet there is no time. That is it, it all rests upon you. You are free. You have accomplished much but not enough. You have built, yet not enough. You cannot half believe anything. A half-worked problem brings no results, nor does one carelessly worked or with a figure left out. How then can you expect to fulfill the whole Law if one is left out?
October 20, 1947 You are settling into a sort of groove to plan your days and accomplish much. Stop dawdling and wasting time. Fight it out and up. You are not limited. You have accepted. There is no easy way to write a book or become famous or a good housekeeper – the details are the same. If you bury the Laws you have learned, you could slip into very ordinary living and accomplish nothing! You feel insulted about hearing what you have left undone. When you do not remember your own words and you cover up, even from your own self, you have fallen to the bottom. You must cover the transgressions of others; this is a Law. You gain credits this way, and more blame – but Law permits no unjust words or attitudes. If you keep your armor shining and crowns straight, the Gates are open to you. The little self could only close the Gates to you, and what satisfaction in that? When something new comes, apply all Law to it, using Logic, Reason, Discretion, Discrimination and Discernment. Desire for perfection takes you many places, but not to the top. See all details instantly; be perfection. It is yours for the taking, the earning, the struggling. Stepping up to see all things would be simple. One day you shall look back and you shall say, "Raca." Call not thy brother Raca, lest you be called a fool. If you let one detail go one day and another the next, where do you go? Down! You can overcome anything your heart desires to overcome. You have great strengths. Your failures come from deliberate letting go; it gets you nowhere. A miss is as good as a mile. You cannot miss and have it. With more attention to the same details, you could be perfect now! You are doing almost well – that is what is on your Initiation exam papers, almost well! If that is what you are satisfied with, you will make no further efforts. You are like children who have to repeat the fifth grade several times. You are very good and you do well, but not well enough. Each time you do "not well enough," you sink into foolishness. "In the words of the mouth, the heart speaks." Being great is greater in your mind than to become great. Until you achieve this, there shall be no excuses. There is but one thing to do, to ascend into Light to become Law. There is no doing of anything that is not perfect. There is no such thing as doing something for expediency to save the self from the work. It is just as much a missing of the mark to be too forceful in carrying out duties as it is to be dilatory. When one has become Law, there is an instant notice for lack of consideration or courtesy to another. When one lacks in consideration for another, one is self and the "I" is greater than God! There is no excuse for failure in vision about practical details every day. Being great means full responsibility on every plane and level without exercising oneself for failure on any plane anytime. To be occupied on any plane is no excuse. Do you think that you can slip by on a "somewhat precarious" perfection? The standard is alike for all. It is best that you like pure justice, without personality in it, that takes fact upon fact to pin it up and look at it. It is just fact, and has nothing to do with personalities.
October 30, 1947 When you object, you are contemptuous. I shall go right on mixing. Law is the spoon! So, you fight against the only thing you requested! You are the heads of your lines, and drag them down when you repudiate or lift them when you are up in consciousness. Why do you not apply all you have learned to everything you do? Do not pray not to be sick! Avoid this. Get to work. Put your body into its department and then take care of it. Pay no attention to it. Go on! Why do you dawdle along and waste time taking care of your body? Do you require this much time to care for your watch or car? Do you expect the man who tunes the piano to repair your refrigerator? You have not yet accepted the fact of your limitations. When you have, you are ready to go on. You are not on anyone else’s path. Compare yourself with ten years ago. When you stop trying to eat like anyone else, eat like you must. When you eat a good meal, diet the next day. Diet strictly. Return to the beginning every time you travel, go to a party or overeat. Do it for three days and your body rebuilds itself again. "If a little is good, more must be better" is not for your body! You are not starving, you know.
November 9, 1947 You can persevere with all you have had and your brain cells are open, for you have the capacities. Use what you have. You do not "think" about it or "think" about your answer. Look up! The answer is there. It is above you! Instead of stopping to think, "I think thus and so," say, "Oh, Father, what is the answer?" and with no fear of "I wonder if it’s the right answer" or "I hope I give the right answer." Remain confident, stay up and know that the Father will help you. "All that He hath is yours to use." You shall go out into the world and into great criticism. Just get to the point where you welcome criticism, for you need it! Make it work for you. Clean house on it and know that it is for your good. Get busy then and apply what you have learned. Let no one and nothing drag you down ever. Listen. Look up to receive. Surrender. Accept what comes. Be up, so that when it comes you will have the right perspective. You shall have griefs but you can lift them, rise above them and learn from them. You shall win!
November 10, 1947 One by one we batter down the strongholds of entrenched selfishness. The Initiations we face now are those where Desire does not take us through. We must become and be.
November 11, 1947 There comes a time in Ascension and Initiation when desire to ascend and do right do not even count! We must be it! In fact, we are there now, and are constantly, minutely checked by the High Council. We must double and redouble our efforts before leaving here. Never again shall this training be given on earth! We are told to go out and train others. It is all self-discipline and direct application of Law constantly, and living up – alert always and never allowing emotions of self to creep in. Self-pity is the most corrosive emotion. How we must fight it! How very subtle are pride and selfishness. We must analyze every word and emotion down to a fraction, and find from whence it stems. What calamities come from the tiniest undiscovered flaw in one incarnation, which spread into open rebellion and devastation in another incarnation!
November 13, 1947 You cannot be 99 percent and be the perfect servant of all the Power. A servant, to be a real servant, must be 100 percent, for when the Power must come forth for the Father’s creation, it can only use 100 percent channel. Otherwise, one is coned and is of no use, no servant. Should the Power come through a 99 percent-er, it would shatter the body! God is just. You are good, but not good enough. When you want perfection as badly as though you were drowning and reaching for air, then you will be working for it. It is a struggle and you must struggle for it. Stay up always. Edna Miriam said, "You have come through the Gates. No one can take this from you. You have returned, but it is a struggle to remain there. I fear for you. I fear that when you go forth, you will slip. It is so easy to go to the bottom. You did the last time. You go back to the same situation. Your families are still your families. They will all pour the world on you, and you must stay up and lift it all." "He sent them out two by two." You go forth now into the activity of lifting and you shall know travail. When you have aches and pains, rise above your body and command it; control it from above! When you slip on one detail, watch carefully, you are on your way down. Take stock immediately. Countless others will be drawn to you; they will go out with their mops and brooms and help you clean up. You will go back to be the servant of all. You will wash the soiled linen and do the chores. You must stand. Remember now, you can earn the last one percent or take four incarnations to return to this place you are now, to go on. Is anything too hard for you? Can you be hurt? No! Spend no time in tears. You never shed tears of self over self! Give! Give in love. Do not withhold. Give of yourself freely. One benefits not by the getting of Love but by the free giving of it to the Father and Master. You take everything back to God through love, lifting and serving. You shall go through much. Hold and stay high and apply all you know. You go back this time with so much more than before. You have more and understand more. You have a greater grasp this time. Observation is based on alertness, logic, reasoning, and how to apply all you know to everything you do. Apropos of what was given today, read Psalm 69:4. "They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away." Aspiration and inspiration come under instinct, and even an animal looks up (aspiration), listens and smells the air (inspiration). The creature is self-conscious and operates under instinctive desire, imagination and will. Man awakens and aspires to something higher than self, to inspiration of Spirit. The Creator has personal consciousness of Desire, Imagination and Will and knows that when it leads to the self, it creates blackness. From soul consciousness we move into soul creation under surrender to God’s Desire for us, which is Love, Imagination, which builds energy and His Will, which is Wisdom. Then the pineal and pituitary open to Illumination and Intuition. Thus, the Fundamental Principles underlying the Ascent of the Creator gods are Desire for the Father of Wisdom, Devotion to the Mother of Love and Faith in the Son of all Energy. Then you live in the upper grades, in the above, according to Light, Color, Tone, Number and Form, the Spoken Word. Omniscience is all-knowing Mind in all ways of all creation, all-knowing Mind through all places of all creation, and all-knowing Mind as all creation, conscious or unconscious. Omnipresence is all Love-Substance present in all ways and in all places of all creation, all Love-Substance present through all unconscious things, and all Love-Substance present as all conscious beings. Omnipotence is all powerful in all ways of all creation, all powerful in all places of all creation, all powerful through all unconscious things and all powerful as all conscious beings. Instant acceptance permits no excuse, no explanation and no justification. It is a complete surrender of all but the desire to go on, involving a complete sacrifice of self, place and position. Acceptance is complete Love for God, for the Fathers, for the Master and for the Masters. Light, Color and Tone create Harmony. Number, Form and the spoken Word create Equilibrium. When you live by the first three, you have Equilibrium, for the last two just fall into line. When you forget completely the past, pain and the body, you shall be harmony and balance. If God could have brought you this far when you have kept to the old pattern by talking about it, think of what He can do when all this past is gone! Dissolve every thought of it. Make your declarations, then forget it. Go about the Father’s business! Stay up in the Realms of Light, Color and Tone. Until you know your exact point of physical balance, how will your body know how to grow? Practice does this! God cannot do it for you. Stand with your spine in a straight line, squarely on the balls and heels of your feet. Bend your knees, then straighten them. Do this daily to align your hips. Extend your elbows straight out to straighten your shoulders. "Father, I accept this (whatever it is) as something to work out and up from into a greater knowledge, a greater illumination and greater almighty strength." This declaration of acceptance covers everything. Then use wise speech or Golden Silence and pray while you stand outside it. Don’t wallow. Thinking is based on facts. Ask when all the facts are not at hand and you have no comprehension. If you are caught out and asked, "Why did you do this? What did you use on this?" Your answer is, "I used nothing on this." Take the full responsibility for all the nothings that follow. Do not permit emotions to rule when you are making decisions. Apply Logic, Reason, Discretion, Discrimination and Discernment to all the facts in the case. Hear what the other fellow says and thinks, not what you think he said or thinks. Know what made him think or say it. There is no small thing, everything is big. Logic (from the Greek "logos," meaning "word"), the fundamental science of thought, is a means of distinguishing correct from incorrect reasoning. Logic is the set of absolute abstract principles that govern and balance reasoning, and enables us to apply abstract principle to daily living. It opens as a faculty when we meet an unchangeable principle or fact that we cannot alter or interpret to suit our theories or to justify our actions or statements. The application of logic leads to right thinking, which can recondition our life into perfection. Reason is the intellectual faculty ordinarily employed in adapting thought or action to some end. Reason deals with the conscious application of abstract principles in a relative way to gain understanding. All reasoning is thinking but not all thinking is reasoning, because not all thoughts are necessarily conscious. Reason deals with the relative, the changeable and is based on manmade premises and outer facts. When reason refuses to be guided by logic, the result is opinion and prejudice, which are the source of so many cults and "isms"— it usually causes hopeless confusion. Ordinarily, we use reason for self-justification, self-explanation or to convince another of our opinion about the "right way." Discretion is the power of deciding or judging, the mental faculty of prudence or judgment. Using discretion, we consider all factors before making a choice. Discretion is the faculty that governs knowing when to speak and when to stay silent, a Law of surrender. Discrimination is the mental faculty of differentiation, of making an exact distinction between things in mind and in action, the power of accurately observing differences, for example, between right and wrong. Discrimination, which is both acute and discerning, is the faculty that governs right choice. Discernment is the intellectual faculty of perception, the faculty we use to design thought. Discernment is a quick, penetrating insight, a keenness of perception that enables us to see with understanding beyond surface appearances of character or circumstances, which is being "a good judge of character." When we combine Discernment with Discrimination and Discretion, we open the faculty of Apprehension.
November 15, 1947 You have no father, mother, husband, or sister, you belong to God. Yet you must accept your responsibility for all details and carry on with them to remain humble. You are not absolved from sins of pride yet! Work as if you have to fill forty-eight hours into twenty-four and put your goal first. Hold up all lines. You may not be able to do all but do what you can and what is necessary. Do the next step next and the most important and necessary at the time. Go to the Source for all your needs, until you learn to do this and expect nothing from the world. When you do, all you need shall come to you. You cannot stop the flow of Power through you nor the joy in your heart that is necessary to create! When you fear paying $5 or $50, you stop the flow of $500,000 coming in! In one turnaround, you could repay all anyone has ever spent for you and repay all others. We must work this way. You cannot work for an income any more than I can. Our work is to release for the Father and for quality, not for a price! Regardless of family or anyone! We have gone into the mountains to regain our health and renew our vision of our mission all our lives, ever since birth. Praise your hands. Praise your tongue. Declare it perfect. Declare your feet bring glad tidings and walk in the place of Light. Lift your eyes to the hills and praise! You have been in a black bondage to what "you think." It closes the mind to all new and you do not move up! Do you realize why you have come through? Your loved ones go no higher than you go and go no lower than you can go! They go through on your vibration. The greater you become in humility, the more greatly they go on! Do you dare to let go? The Power wavers not! Praise your eyes, your affected parts, your gates: "It is cleansed. It is purified. It is healed." Praise your loved ones everywhere. You can praise them into doing anything. Praise is the creator. Praise is the healer. Praise is the lifter. Praise is the builder. "I will rise out of the darkness and the depths of self. I will move into my Father’s house, into my room of Light prepared for me since the beginning. I will surrender to be possessed of the Light! I will surrender to be used by the Light! I am become Light! I arise and ascend into the heart of the fire! My eyes are perfect eyes in the image and likeness of my Father’s, all-seeing, all-observing. I bless them, praise them and lift them to see all above, all below. My hands are the perfect hands of God, used in His service, all-lifting, all-holding, all-blessing. My lips are the lips of the divine. My tongue is silver-tipped with the words of God, all-accepting, all-surrendering, all-merciful, all-loving, all-wise, all-discriminating. My feet rejoice in glad tidings and they spread understanding as flowers wherever I tread."
November 20, 1947 A superfluity of weight is based in self-satisfaction, self-interest and self-pride. To lose weight, "take on the Lord Jesus Christ" and become your real Godlike self.
December 5, 1947 When the egoic consciousness is in bondage to subsoul down here, the Supreme Oversoul is asleep in a Kingdom above. You cannot awaken it until you are not "thinking about it." Work on Details and Being awakens the Supreme Oversoul. Like Galatea or the Sleeping Beauty, you must be awakened. The Supreme Oversoul does not awaken until we awaken all brain cells and lift the subsoul to become the egoic soul. Every vibration of force has been necessary to awaken brain cells. Has the lash been too strong? Has it been worth it? Are you able to work hard enough to finish it when you go home? Nothing you can do – to the washing of feet – provides this service as does the lifting of a pot of tea or cutting a lemon – to open the Oversoul. All service does this. This is the mystery of the "three falling into the four," the subsoul, egoic and Oversoul fall into the Supreme Oversoul. The three is the Trinity of God falling into the four of service, the mystery of the capstone of the pyramid. Mind, Power and Substance fall into earth, air, fire and water. Remain above your hair. You are full panoplied in responsibility. The Power is not released through you until you take full responsibility. What does it matter whose is the responsibility on the outer? Sacrifice starts at home. See to it that you make it. These are not only words; they make effort necessary. Why is it so hard to say and acknowledge it and take responsibility?
December 6, 1947 We can straighten lines of disobedience to the best of our ability but patches are always patches. As long as you can cover up things, you cover up only from self. If you live by such deceit and treachery, you cover nothing. When you do not admonish self, you hide nothing. So shall everything be brought into the open. When you do not face your fault, it shall be shouted from the housetops. From whom are you hiding? From God? You think you are not treacherous, but you are. If you will call such actions by their right name, you will get somewhere. If you want to be disobedient, then deceive yourself, do so. You have to excuse yourself to yourself, "I cannot bother the one in charge." It is not a bother when you seek advice. When it is used as an excuse, "you do not bother." All your fears are born of the four – grasping, deceit, treachery and greed. You are at the apex of Trials by Fire. You can pass. Whether you do or not depends on you. You have the ability to win. Not following through and asking foolish questions is kindergarten. You are cosmically endowed souls, but you are found guilty of self-deceit, and insulted by reprimand. You are still insulted when spoken to, selfish to the core, and prefer pretty words. What were you told when you came here? You are supposed to know. You were told that you would have to live this in the world of men with thousands of details to drag you down. You have been lifted and held, granted amnesties and pushed and shoved to place you where you are now. You are full panoplied in Power. You have enough brain cells awake to be perfection without blame or mistakes. What good do you think prayers do when you fail in your duty? Of course, it keeps the Gates open so you can try again and get there after three or four more lifetimes coming back alone on earth. Are you insulted when I say you are rotten with selfishness? If you had the sense you were born with, you would not have to be told. It is a subconscious reaction to the lashes that have been used to bring you into Heaven. It is born of unconscious blaming and based in a revenge idea born of the fact that you think you are doing too much work! When are you supposed to live up? Are you supposed to give up the Kingdom because you have a duty to do? Why do you do it? Because you sink below your hair roots.
December 9, 1947 If a man leaves a pit open and one falls into it, who is to blame? If one turns up the wicks in the lamps, leaves them and another almost burns the house down, who is to blame? (Edna Miriam found the bathroom lamp flared and smokey. I had turned it down slightly when I lit it, but did not turn it down enough.) The second Law is observation. Train your subconscious not to do it once, for you do it again and for all time if you do not curb it immediately! The main Law is to remain in the Light always, no matter what you are doing. This is command number one for you: Light, which is Love! Light goes forth and makes all Light, then you can observe. Everything then becomes Light and falls into its proper place. (Put all Laws in proper order as they come after going over all lessons.) No man can look about him in a dark room, can he? 2. Observation, then attention to all about you. All it takes is determination for perfection, which backs observation. Vigor, flame and fervor are all it takes. The first Law is to move into the Light. The second Law is to use observation and attention, backed by fervent determination to achieve. Simple as A, B, C! The Power is coming through for the lessons. Remember, you can, you are doing this. "I am so doing!" You are not going to lose one pinpoint’s worth gained this summer. Much more remains to dig out from the bottom – pride, greed, intolerance, resentment, rebellion. Keep at it. It need not take you so long. Strive for your 1,000 days of burnt offerings and never stop. You have lost your merely "intellectual" brilliance. Now you add to it again, the brilliance you have gained, the Light. It shall come gradually, you will not notice it, others will. It is all there. It will take you three months to work out all the ideas you have now. Read one paragraph a day of what you do not think you know. Ascend into the Light first, and you will see all and understand. You are still very "thick" at times. Move up. Move up. Move up. Decree Light to lighten the way. There is no reason you cannot be God-conscious every moment. The moment you descend under your hair roots, things begin to pop!
December 13, 1947 When you reach an apex of pain, ascend to meet your God always, before you go down. You see it, and when it is a mass of pain, move up! The Power moves in and pain moves out. Pain is only a sign of having fallen below the waters of the River of Life. Fire, air, water and earth. You must live in the fire always. There is nothing more for you. It is up to you. You must face facts. In capitals write: Do I want, really want my 100 percent healing? How hard do I want it? What sacrifice will I make for it? Do I prefer enjoying my pain or do I want to be great enough to carry on my work? It is a question of my own desire. Do you deny the Lord? Do you deny your God? Do you deny the Supreme? What you have done in the past ten years is nothing compared with the past six months. It will be established. You can! You have done ten years work in six months. Live in the fire! Do and live from above! Practice does this. Do not object all the time. Think, do not emote! Ascend and think in the Light and fire first! You have done ten years work in six months, which no one else could have done, yet you could have had more. You may achieve in only one way: Hold fast to all you have learned. Reading your notes is not enough. Do not become emotional. You cannot bear to be wrong. This is pride. You fight back, yet most of the time you are wrong, even as you make excuses. You blithely ignore what you do. Others will point out your faults. Do not live below the belt. To be alone with no reprimands, you think you will be with God. It shall be peaceful, yes but here you learn to do it in the field of action. Being alone does no good. Being tested in the fire is the only way. Be cautious. You now have no excuse. How are you going to work? Stay in the Light. One day you will appreciate what you have had. Ahead of you is no difficulty save what you make for yourselves. You have all in your hands. The pain is a lack of Light! Again, I tell you, it is lack of Light! Everything is waiting for the magic touch of love. Love is the open sesame. Life will stick hat pins in you if you don’t remember Law and do stupid things a ten-year-old would not do. Live in the Light. Obey Light. Live Law and love. Discipline the self every hour of every day for acceptance! Watch self-pity, for it is worse than aggressiveness. Then the trap door is closed and no Light comes through. You have no right to feel sorry for the self. "God, I am perfect. I am all-seeing." Do not waste time thinking, "I am not doing it right." It is an inverted self-exaltation and egotism. Stand up and say, "Move in, Father! I see and do this now!" If you wallow in self-pity, you are a mess! What right have you to think of self-pity? All you need to say, all you must say is "God, take it!" You do not dig yourself out of self-pity by wallowing in it. You do dig yourself out of self-pity by knowing it does not mean a thing. Look at the Father and say, "For God’s sake, annihilate me but tear it out." It has no roots. It is created hour by hour. You refuse to "face the music," which is to face God. Bring it into the open. You cover up. That is why you do not want to face God. Accept the blame! When you do that which you came to do, you will have "seeing" and "hearing." When you stop hiding from these self-motives, you will face life and not hide. The only sink of iniquity is to hide from or excuse real self-motives. When you stop seeing the poor little self, so hurt, so sorry, then comes real seeing! You do not see yourself as making no mistakes today, but think about God. See only God. You do not become perfect by worshiping the self but through attention and observation. Worship of self leads to old age, old glands and muscles. Worship of God leads to Light, the glories of Light. This is how to achieve! Be Light! Do not sit in self-condemnation. To say, "I am sorry," is not enough when you turn and think of self. The only way up is to go by soul. When you condemn self, you only push away your Oversoul. You cannot live that way. Do you believe that God endowed you with a perfect Oversoul? Why do you descend into your body? Light is released to you but is withdrawn when you are in self-condemnation. Do not be egotistical about self-sufficiency. Your "poor little me" stuff would fill this universe with ego if allowed to expand. If you do not think so, then never again think of self and make no mistakes. If you explain, excuse or justify once, then you are right. This may be your last reprimand. If so, the day is coming when you will work for them so to cleanse the self-motives you have hidden. I have watched many. The day will come when you will treasure every hard word. Having the glands closed is to leave living in the bride and bridegroom’s chamber. You can see and hear if you but practice. It is like an artificial limb, if you leave it on the bed you cannot run! What’s the good? Give it time. You must see through the glass clearly and not darkly. Prometheus was bound to the rock of self. This has burned the shackles of your self. Light can lead you to the high place but you cannot enter therein without Intuition and Illumination supreme. These are the names of your new glands; use them. Ask the Master to bless you a thousand times a day. There is only one Power, one Glory, the Power Supreme. It seems that you would want so desperately to become perfect that you would put self into the fire and consider only seeing and hearing the Light. It is your gift and you have paid a great price for it. The only thing you can do is to stay up in the Light, become Light, polish and practice. When you train a child, do you call him a bad boy and speak all the negative things? It is of total darkness and scratches the soul. Train self by being positive. Lift so the new glands can be operative. Be up. Stay up. Feel up. Stand, therefore and hold now and evermore hold! Stand and hold fast and all shall be well with you and with your souls. Give this lesson to the Group. Spread it out through all lessons. Tell the Group, "These lessons are for all. This is how I was lashed this summer. It is for all of you under Orders. There is no time for self." |
